Dr Daniel Bontje

Since October 2013 Daniel Bontje has been developing and improving human disease transmission models for neglected tropical diseases as a researcher for the Section for Infectious Disease Control in the Department of Public Health, Erasmus MC: University Medical Center Rotterdam

Until October 2013, Daniel was a researcher in the Epidemiology Department of the Central Veterinary Institute, part of Wageningen University.

Daniel's specialties include: Model building and analysis, Epidemiology, Infectious Disease Dynamics, Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs), Biology, Ecotoxicology, Bifurcation analysis.
Software/Coding: Mathematica, Matlab and a bit of R and ArcGIS.

For his PhD-project Daniel modelled the long-term effects of toxicants.

Daniel contributes to the work on Visceral Leishmaniasis and the London Declaration for the Diagnostics Modelling Consortium.
